MF DOOM fans have been reacting to a new Gladiator II popcorn bucket that resembles the late rapper’s mask.
The bucket, which you can view below, was revealed yesterday (October 8) and immediately fans started comparing the two in the comments section.
“That’s MF DOOM!!” one fan wrote alongside a Leonardo DiCaprio GIF from Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood. Another added: “omg that’s mf doom,” while another joked: “MF Doom’s estate should get a cut of this.”

Some also compared it to the Dune popcorn bucket viral craze earlier this year.
The rapper – whose real name was Daniel Dumile – died on October 31, 2020, aged 49.
In the time since his death, various figures from across the music industry have come together to keep the rapper’s legacy alive. This includes a posthumous feature on ‘Cheat Codes’ – an album made by Danger Mouse and Black Thought – and plans for a biography, called The Chronicles of DOOM: Unraveling Rap’s Masked Iconoclast, written by veteran music journalist S. H. Fernando Jr.
Marvel also paid tribute to him in their latest DOOM comic book, the first in the series since 2000.
Gladiator II meanwhile, will hit cinemas on November 15 in the UK and a week later in the US. The sequel follows the story of Lucius (Paul Mescal), the former heir to the Roman Empire who is forced into slavery after the invasion of Pedro Pascal’s General Marcus Acacius.
Set 25 to 30 years after the events of the 2000 film, Lucius resolves to become a gladiator, and takes inspiration from the legend of Maximus Decimus Meridius, played in an Oscar-winning performance by Russell Crowe in the original.
A recent trailer showed Mescal adorning the hallowed armour of Crowe’s Maximus from the original film.
