Camila Cabello Covers Addison Rae’s ‘Diet Pepsi’: I ‘Wish This Was on My Album’

Singer also performed renditions of C, XOXO‘s “Godspeed” and “June Gloom”

Camila Cabello is an Addison Rae stan — and she’s giving “Diet Pepsi” the C, XOXO treatment. While visiting the BBC Radio Live Lounge, the Cuban Mexican star performed a few tracks, including “Godspeed” and a stripped-back cover of the Rae single.

“Untouched, XO/Young lust, let’s go,” sang Cabello, dressed in an oversized gray suit and light-blue dress shirt. “When we drive in your car, I’m your baby/Losing all my innocence in the backseat.”

Backed by a piano and some backup singers, Cabello performed a slowed-down version of the Rae single, which shares similar references to the music on her own LP. “I love this song, I love Addison,” she told the radio program. “I love everything she’s doing right now. When I first heard this song, I was like, I wish this song was on my album.”

Along with performing the Rae cover at the Live Lounge, Cabello sang her Magic City single, “Godspeed,” which she debuted at the 2024 VMAs earlier this month. She also performed C, XOXO‘s “June Gloom” and a rendition of “Never Be the Same” from her debut album.

“I’m in my ‘Godspeed’ era, and that song is very much about letting go of everything that does not serve you,” Cabello told Billboard about the single ahead of the VMAs. “Death to the things that are negative, death to the people and the situations that try to bring you down.”

Cabello last visited the Live Lounge in September 2021, when she performed a cumbia cover of Olivia Rodrigo’s “Good 4 U.” The year prior, she sang a classic cover of Lewis Capaldi’s “Someone You Loved.” (Before then, Cabello visited the Live Lounge as a member of Fifth Harmony for a cover of Elle King’s “Ex’s and Oh’s.”)
