The ‘Espresso’ singer is going from ‘Please Please Please’ to ‘Ho Ho Ho’
Sabrina Carpenter will be both naughty and nice in her upcoming holiday variety show airing exclusively on Netflix on December 6. A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter will feature the singer performing songs from her 2023 holiday EP, Fruitcake, among other holiday classics. The special will also include comedic guests, as well as some unexpected duets, cameos, and surprises.
Carpenter, who is named as one of the program’s executive producers, said in a statement, “The holidays have always been so special to me. I am excited to bring my take to a classic holiday variety show – infusing my love of music and comedy to make something that is uniquely me.”
Another executive producer, Michael D. Ratner, said “Sabrina’s vision to subvert the classic holiday special has been clear since day one.”

Of course, Carpenter has never shied away from being funny and a little naughty, from her playful lyrics in hits like “Espresso” and “Please Please Please” and our creative outros during “Nonsense” to her recent MTV Video Music Awards performance where she made out with an alien. This summer, she told Rolling Stone that she’s happy the world is laughing along with her. “My mom has been like, ‘Do you feel crazy right now?’” Carpenter says. “I just love that people get my sense of humor.”
