Jude Law asks Radiohead to work with him: “They’re one of the great bands”

Jude Law has praised Radiohead and said he would be “honoured” to work with them.

Speaking during a new interview with The Guardian, the actor described Thom Yorke and co as “one of the great bands”.

“I’ve always adored Radiohead. I think they are just blistering with talent. I listen to their music regularly. They’re one of the great bands,” he said. “I’ve worked with Vampire Weekend [reading a poem on their 2019 album ‘Father Of The Bride’] because Ezra [Koenig] is an old friend of mine. If Thom Yorke and his band want me to do anything, I would be honoured.”

Despite his desire to work with them in the future, Law once did team up with the band to produce a campaign film for Greenpeace in 2012.

The film told the story of a polar bear forced out of her Arctic habitat due to climate change and featured the Radiohead track ‘Everything In Its Right Place’ from the band’s 2000 album ‘Kid A’.

Meanwhile Radiohead recently rehearsed together, according to bassist Colin Greenwood. “We did some rehearsals about two months ago in London, just to play the old songs,” he said. “And it was really fun, had a really good time.”

The band’s ninth and most recent studio album, ‘A Moon Shaped Pool’, was released back in 2016, while their last tour together was in 2018.

Elsewhere, Law is set to feature in the forthcoming Star Wars series Skeleton Crew as Jod Na Nawood.

The show follows four kids – played by Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy Smith and Ryan Kiera Armstrong – who make a strange discovery on their planet that they believe is a lost Jedi temple, but instead find what appears to be a crashed starship. They get lost in the galaxy and find themselves on an adventure with Nawood (Law).

The actor called the series “a timeless adventure story in the spirit of the Amblin coming-of-age stories of the ’80s like The Goonies and E.T..”

The series will also be executive produced by The Mandalorian‘s Jon Favreau and is due for release on Disney+ on December 3.
