Faithless unveil emotional new single ‘I’m Not Alone (Rest Well Maxwell)’

Faithless have released an emotional new single ‘I’m Not Alone (Rest Well Maxwell)’, a tribute to former member Maxi Jazz, who passed away in 2022.

The new track, released Friday (August 30) via ADA, coincides with the 26th anniversary of the group’s worldwide dance hit ‘God Is A DJ,’ which was featured on their second studio album, 1998’s ‘Sunday 8PM’.

Featuring vocals from longtime Leeds-based collaborator LSK, the track is described as “a paen to some of the greats who have passed”, including their iconic frontman Jazz.

“We can’t wait to play this one live for you,” Faithless write in an Instagram post.

Earlier this summer, Faithless released another new single titled ‘Find A Way,’ featuring Suli Breaks, which will also appear on their upcoming eighth album, ‘Champion Sound’.

Back in April, the group hinted that new music was on the way via their social media accounts. “As many of you have noticed, we’re back…Some shows have already been announced but we couldn’t start the summer without a little personal note. Maxi died just over a year ago and obviously we miss him every day. Thank you all for all of your kind words of support over this last year. It has really, really meant a lot,” surviving members Sister Bliss and Rollo wrote on Instagram.

“In the meantime, we never stopped (couldn’t stop, never wanted to stop!) making music. Even during Maxi’s long illness we recorded and released ‘All Blessed’ and now finally, 8 years after our last live performance, we are returning to festival stages across the summer and are planning some of our own shows later this year…”

Last week the band announced they will go on a UK and Europe-wide tour later this year, to go alongside news of their new album ‘Champion Sound’.

Faithless’ biggest run of dates in 10 years will kick off their 21-date run with a show at Edinburgh’s O2 Academy on November 1 and will wrap at Copenhagen’s Poolen on December 14. You can grab tickets for some of the UK shows here.
