Oasis Shoot Down Glastonbury Rumors Ahead of 2025 Reunion

Band stated they won’t be playing any festivals next year

It’s been just over a day since Oasis reunited, and already, they’re shooting down rumors.

On Wednesday, Aug. 28, the band denied speculation that they were set to headline Glastonbury in 2025 as part of their big reunion tour. In fact, Oasis added, they would not be playing “any other festivals next year.”

“The only way to see the band perform will on their Oasis Live ’25 World Tour,” the statement concluded. (Oasis twice headlined Glastonbury during their first run, in 1995 and 2004.)

After a weekend of rumors and reports, brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher confirmed that Oasis would reunite for a run of concerts in the U.K. and Ireland in the summer of 2025. Shows are currently slated for Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin, though a press release noted that “plans are underway for Oasis Live ’25 to go to other continents outside of Europe later next year.”

“The guns have fallen silent,” Oasis said in a statement. “The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.”

After an indomitable run in the Nineties and early 2000s, Oasis split in 2009. Tensions were always high between the Gallagher brothers during the band’s run, and the continuation of their feud in the 15 years since the band’s split was often the biggest factor preventing a reunion. The brothers never shied from taking shots at each other in the press, often insisting the other was the reason Oasis would never get back together.

The reunion obviously suggests the pair have reached some kind of agreement, though it’s still unclear just how deep the hatchet has been buried. It’s one of several big questions still surrounding the reunion news, including more practical matters, like who play alongside the Gallaghers in their live band next summer; how long will the reunion actually last; and does the band maybe have a new record in them as well?
