Today (August 23), the iconic stadium venue announced the occasion on social media today, sharing a picture of the guitar – a black-and-pastel blue combination that’s emblazoned with a message that reads, “So long, Taylor. It’s been a Wembley love story.”

“In recognition of becoming the first solo artist to play Wembley Stadium eight times on a single tour, we gifted Taylor Swift her own personalised Wembley Guitar,” they write on X (formerly Twitter). “So long, Taylor. It was enchanting”.

Earlier this week (August 20), Swift played the eighth and final Wembley Stadium show of her years-long and career-spanning ‘Eras’ tour. It also coincided with the conclusion of the European leg of the tour. Through the set, she was joined onstage by frequent collaborator Jack Antonoff and ‘Florida!!!’ featured artist Florence Welch.

To close out the mini residency at Wembley, the singer-songwriter also performed the ‘Tortured Poets Department’ cut ‘So Long, London’ live for the first time as a thank you to the London audience.

Yesterday (August 22), members of the Liberal Democrats suggested that Swift be handed the Freedom of the City of London following her ‘Eras Tour’ dates.

London had hosted more nights for the pop star as part of this tour than any other city globally, and her show on Tuesday (August 20) alone – which marked the last of the UK dates – is predicted to have brought as much as £300million into the local economy.

Presented on rare occasions, the suggested award recognises outstanding achievements of an individual in their respective fields.

“Taylor Swift is now on track to achieve her most impressive feat yet: patching part of the blank space the Conservative government left in the British economy after years of neglect,” MP Sarah Olney stated via Metro.
