The rapper announced her upcoming beauty brand Northside Princess yesterday (August 19), and the unconventional shade names have caught the attention of fans on social media.

She first teased her foray into the beauty industry in September 2023 while speaking to Interview Magazine. “I got a lip gloss line dropping soon, y’all better shop with your girl,”  she said, before sharing the names of the now-announced flavours.

Not for the faint-hearted, the shades for sale are called ‘Coochie Juice’, ‘Bootyhole Brown’, ‘Nut’, ‘Pussyhole Pink’, ‘Yellow Discharge’, ‘Gonorrhea’, ‘Blue Ballz’, and ‘Sex On My Period’. According to an Instagram post from the rapper, they’ll all be fruit-scented.

The eight lipgloss shades are the first product from her forthcoming beauty brand, but it’s not yet clear when they’ll officially launch, or where they’ll be available to purchase from. Fans can sign up for a newsletter on the Northside Princess website for more information.

No stranger to controversy, the rapper came under fire earlier in the year for parodying Donald Trump‘s infamous first presidential campaign during her live shows. Her set at The Roots Picnic in Philadelphia, her stage production featured a huge “Make America Sexyy Again” hat on stage — a prop she’d been using since her Rolling Loud set back in March.

Given the performance took place amid the current the US election campaign, the stage design caused backlash as many thought the “Make America Sexyy Again” hat was her sympathising with Trump and endorsing his “Make America Great Again” campaign from 2016.

Red then took to X/Twitter to respond to the backlash and issue a disclaimer: “It’s Sexyy Red [for] President [American flag emoji] I’m my own candidate. I’m not endorsing anybody, period. [Kiss emoji].”

Last month, the rapper told NME she thinks she “should be the President in real life”. She was speaking about her third mixtape ‘Sexyy Red 4 President’, released in May. It featured the likes of Drake, Lil Baby, and more. “It was fun,” Red told NME about making the record.

When put on the spot to share some ideas for a potential manifesto, Red said that she is “for the people, for real,” adding: “Just know, I fight for you”.

The first thing she would do in office is “freeing all the real n****as”, including her “baby daddy”. She would also have her own national holiday called “Sexyy Day”.
