Kali Uchis announces new LP ‘Orquídeas Parte 2’, shares Kaytranada remix snippet

Kali Uchis has announced her new LP ‘Orquídeas Parte 2’ featuring a Kaytranada collaboration – find out all the details below.

The American-Colombian singer has shared the news of her follow up to ‘Orquídeas‘, which arrived this January – and has since landed on NME‘s best albums of 2024 so far.

Now, Uchis has announced the second instalment of the series, taking to Instagram to spread the word.

“orquídeas parte 2 next Friday 8/9” she wrote, adding: “Young rich & in love – the Kaytranada version”.

Take a look at a snippet of the remix below:

NME reviewed ‘Orquídeas’ back in January, giving it four stars: “Uchis masterfully melds her bicultural worlds in the dembow-driven ‘Muñekita’. She is joined by City Girls’ JT and Dominican rapper El Alfa in the fierce and freaky track about a woman living her best life in the club. Uchis later opens her heart in Spanglish in ‘Tu Corazón Es Mío’, in which divulges her pregnancy with Don Toliver.

“Backed by lush R&B production with Latin percussion, she showers her baby on the way with loving lyrics: “I know that you’re mine entirely / All that you need’s inside of me,” Uchis sings in Spanish. Through her boundless ‘Orquídeas’ albums, Uchis blossoms into a fearless pop ambassador at the forefront of breaking down the divide between music in English and Spanish.”

In other news, Tyler, The Creator brought out Uchis, Childish Gambino and A$AP Rocky at Coachella.
