Justin Timberlake Dives Into Heartbreak With New ‘Drown’ Track

The singer previously released “Selfish” from his upcoming album Everything I Thought It Was

Justin Timberlake is fighting the current on latest single “Drown,” the follow-up track to “Selfish” from his upcoming album Everything I Thought It Was.

The song — co-written and co-produced by Timberlake, Louis Bell, Cirkut, Kenyon Dixon, and Amy Allen — delivers another heartbreak anthem from the artist. Backed by moody beats, he sings the chorus, “Got caught up in the tide of all the tears you cried/Yeah, you know I was blinded by my heart, sinking from the start/Should’ve never followed you this far/Now I’m in the deep end, and you let me drown/You didn’t even try to save me.”

Timberlake first teased “Drown” on Monday with an Instagram video of him playing a snippet at the piano along with the caption: “So excited for new music and everything coming this week… DROWN 2/23.” The following Wednesday, he shared a reel of himself working at a studio while the song played in the background.

Last month, Timberlake debuted “Selfish” at an intimate Memphis show, the first single from his upcoming sixth studio album Everything I Thought It Was. The LP will be his first since 2018’s Man of the Woods and will arrive on March 15 via RCA. While the NSYNC alum has yet to release the album’s track list, he said there are 18 songs on the project.

While on the stopping by The Tonight Show in January to promote his forthcoming album, Timberlake also announced that he will be going on a global trek dubbed the Forget Tomorrow World Tour that will kick off April 29 in Vancouver, Canada.
