Kings Of Leon have dropped the serene new single, and a powerful new music video made in collaboration with the Weather Channel.
The song is the latest to be shared from the group’s nostalgic new album ‘O My Beloved’, which was announced earlier this month with the tender single ‘My Whole World’.
Set for release on November 6 via Love Tap Records, the record marks the 10th album from the Tennessee rock giants, and their first since 2024’s ‘Can We Please Have Fun’. Visit here to pre-order.
Now, they have dropped a second preview of the album with the heartfelt track ‘Cold Blue Dawn’.
Taking on a bluesy sound, the single sees frontman Caleb Followill and co. embrace a reflective, appreciative approach, and admire how the natural world helps shape our own personal experiences.
It also comes with a first-of-its-kind lyric video, which the band made in partnership with The Weather Channel, the consumer brand of The Weather Company.
The visuals use satellite imagery from NASA’s historic Landsat programme to spell out every word and every letter of the lyrics, including stunning shots of rivers, coastlines, farmland, mountain ranges and more.
“My family was already die-hard Weather Channel followers,” said Caleb Followill. “So we saw what they did with our song immediately and thought it was beautiful. We learned they were making music a larger part of what they do and we reached out immediately to try and do something together. They have been super cool to work with, and we hope this unlikely partnership keeps going because it makes a lot of sense to us.”

The collaboration comes following The Weather Channel creating a viral clip of weather formations set to the band’s song ‘Pyro’, which the band later embraced and posted on social media.
As for the album as a whole, ‘O My Beloved’ is expected to be their most intimate and unguarded record yet, and its 13-songs centre around nostalgia and self-reflection.
“We have already surpassed anything we ever imagined we could do, and we’ve built something that is so special,” the frontman shared.
“I thought, wouldn’t it be beautiful to make an album that is looking back on all of the things that we’ve done and appreciating how we got here,” he added. “In the songs, there’s our families, stories from our childhood, things that maybe didn’t seem that significant at the time, but the way they find their way into these songs kind of lets me realise how impactful they really were in my life.”

The announcement of the new album comes following Kings Of Leon wrapping up a huge 2026 UK tour earlier this summer, where they were joined by The Snuts, The Lathums and The Royston Club.
They have also headlined Mad Cool 2026 in Madrid, kicked off the inaugural State Fayre festival with a hits-packed headline set, and played an intimate Nashville show where they played the lead single ‘My Whole World’ live for the first time.
‘Can We Please Have Fun’ was given a three-star review from NME when it dropped in 2024, and praised as “easily KOL’s most promising, liberated record for over a decade”, but “still surprisingly restrained in places”.
Speaking to NME at the time, the band said they had rediscovered their sense of excitement while making the record. “It was the most enjoyable record I’ve ever been a part of,” Caleb said at the time, with drummer Nathan Followill adding: “It’s like we allowed ourselves to be musically vulnerable.”
