Charli xcx Reveals the Top Five Songs She’s Ever Released

While Charli xcx welcomed the arrival of Music, Fashion, Film on Friday (July 24), she’s also taking a trip down memory lane.

The British pop star jogged her memories of her catalog when asked to name the top five Charli xcx songs during an interview with SPIN’s Lipps Service on Thursday (July 23).

Charli attempted to spread the love to different eras of her career but made sure to take it back to where it all started on True Romance with 2011 lead single “Stay Away.”

“I just love that song. I think for me it’s very sentimental, just because it was the first sort of official song I put out,” she explained. “I still to this day kind of go back and listen to it, and I’m kind of like, ‘Wow, like that was really cool.’”

She then went to 2019’s Charli opener, “Next Level Charli,” which gives her a “euphoric” feeling every time. Next, Charli showed love to the “365” remix featuring Shygirl, which landed on the Brat remix album in October 2024. “It’s kind of about not knowing when to leave the party, which I really have an issue with,” she added.

Charli closed out her top five with Pop 2’s “Track 10” and 2015’s “Vroom Vroom,” both of which are still performance staples and were part of her setlist during the Brat era.

For a bonus, she chose a track from her newest era, and she went with Music, Fashion, Film’s “No One Lasts Forever,” which she crowned as one of her “favorite songs” she’s ever penned. The album closer deals with mortality surrounding art and fame and features recordings from a conversation Charli had with director David Cronenberg during a trip to visit him in Toronto.

TikTok partnered with Charli on Friday to launch a campaign surrounding Music, Fashion, Film, which will give fans the chance to rework the album’s tracks while unlocking unique profile frames and exclusive content from the pop star.

“One of my favorite things about making music is seeing how fans take it somewhere I never expected. Watching people create with my songs and share their own ideas around the music is always inspiring,” Charli said in a statement. “I’m excited for everyone to enjoy Music, Fashion, Film on TikTok and can’t wait to see what fans create.”

Music, Fashion, Film serves as Charli’s first release since she helmed the Wuthering Heights soundtrack in February, which debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200. Her foray into cinema continues when she stars in I Want Your Sex, which hits theaters on July 31.
