Johnny Marr‘s huge live show in London this autumn has been postponed.
The singer-songwriter had been scheduled to take to the stage at the OVO Arena Wembley in the capital on Saturday, October 24, with special guest Baxter Dury supporting. It was billed as his biggest headline concert yet.

However, the venue has now issued a statement confirming that the performance will no longer be taking place on the original date.
“It is with great regret that we must inform you that the forthcoming Johnny Marr show at OVO Arena Wembley, London, scheduled for 24 October 2026, is having to be rescheduled,” it began.
“We understand that many of you will have made plans to attend, and we are truly sorry for the disappointment and inconvenience this news may cause.”
The update continued: “A new date has not yet been confirmed; however, we are working to provide an update as soon as possible, and you will be notified immediately once a rescheduled date is announced.
“All tickets will be automatically refunded through the original point of purchase. The refund will be processed back to your original method of payment, and no further action is required on your part.”
It concluded: “We would like to sincerely thank you for your understanding, and continued support and we hope to welcome you back to the show in the future.”
Organisers have not disclosed the reason for the postponement, nor has Marr posted about the delay. NME has reached out to his representatives for comment.
Marr recently played a big homecoming gig at Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl, before heading to Dublin’s Iveagh Gardens. He is currently on tour in Europe, and is scheduled to perform in Spain tomorrow night (Thursday July 23).
His next solo album, ‘The Age Of Everything’, is due out on October 2, following on from 2022’s ‘Fever Dreams Pts 1–4’. Marr dropped the lead single from the LP, ‘Spin’, last month.
Last year saw the artist release a new live album, ‘Look Out Live!’. The project comprises 22 tracks recorded at the Eventim Apollo in London as part of his ‘Spirit Power’ live tour in 2024.
More recently, he contributed to Gorillaz‘ latest record ‘The Mountain’, and made an appearance with the band in London last September. Marr worked on the star-studded ‘Help(2)’ charity album for War Child, too. He released a ‘best-of’ compilation in 2023, featuring a new song called ‘Somewhere’.
In other news, Morrissey shared a lengthy attack on his former Smiths bandmate Marr over a new BBC documentary about the band. Earlier this year, the singer corrected Marr about the history of The Smiths signing with Rough Trade.
