The latter has been inviting special guests to make a confessions during her Lux Tour. So far the likes of Lola Young, Karol G and Maggie Rogers have stepped up to make an appearance during this section of the concert.

On Monday (July 6), Roan made a surprise confession at the Oakland Arena.

Prompted by Rosalía to share something she wanted to “get out off your chest,” Roan recalled a pandemic-era flirtation that grew through three months of online communication before turning into an actual date in Los Angeles.

“We kissed, and it was – I was floating. I was just so like, wow,” Roan said.

She went on to confess that after not hearing from the person for four days, she reached out and was told: “I met someone.”

Roan explained that the person later told a mutual friend “they knew they should be sad and care about me, but they don’t,” adding that “they don’t know why I’m so upset because it was just casual.”

“And that turned into a song,” she added.

The song itself contains bitter lyrics with Roan singing: “You wonder why I’m bitter / Bragging to your friends, I get off when you hit it / I hate to tell the truth, but I’m sorry, dude, you didn’t / I hate that I let this drag on so long, now I hate myself.

Rosalía compared the track with her song ‘La Perla’, the song that follows the confessional segment in her set.

“We have a word in Spain – ‘una perla’ – someone who’s a real piece of work, un cabrón, o una cabrona,” said the star.

“I wrote a song called ‘La Perla.’ I think it’s the perfect one to dedicate to your perla. You deserve someone much better.”

Lola Young shared a similar story at Rosalía’s London show at The O2 in May. At the time Young confessed that she found out the man she was sleeping with was married with kids.

At the time, NME awarded that show five stars describing it as a “breathtakingly brilliant work of art”.

It added: “The Spanish star brings her ambitious album ‘Lux’ to life with a performance that turns the arena into a living museum.”
