Julia Jacklin signs to 4AD and announces massive UK, European and North American tour

Julia Jacklin has signed to 4AD Records, and announced a huge massive tour that will see her perform across the UK, Europe and North America.

The new announcement comes as Jacklin has made a name for herself as one of Australia’s most internationally celebrated songwriters. She dropped her acclaimed debut album ‘Don’t Let The Kids Win’ in 2016, before following it up with 2019’s ‘Crushing’ and 2022’s ‘Pre Pleasure’.

That most recent album came out on Polyvinyl and reached the Number Two position on the ARIA Charts, and now the singer-songwriter has confirmed that she has signed her first-ever global record deal – joining 4AD.

With the move, she joins other artists on the label, including Pixies, Frank Black, Future Islands, Aldous Harding, Dry Cleaning, Big Thief, The National and Adrianne Lenker.

To coincide with the new label home, Jacklin has announced a huge tour which will see her perform across the UK, Europe and North America in 2026 and 2027.

Dates kick off in San Diego on October 20, before continuing with slots in Los Angeles, Seattle, Dallas, Nashville, Washington D.C, Boston, Chicago and more throughout the rest of the year.

At the top of 2027, the tour picks up again in the UK, with shows lined up in Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, London and more throughout February, before the tour heads across Europe later in the spring.

Tickets go on sale this Friday (June 5) at 10am local time. Visit here for tickets and more information.

Jacklin’s latest album was given a four-star review from NME, and we later named the album as one of the best Australian releases, and the overall best Australian album of 2022.

Topping the latter roundup, Jacklin appeared on the cover of NME Australia’s December 2022 issue, just three months after headlining the magazine in support of ‘Pre Pleasure’.

In that interview, the singer-songwriter opened up about the childhood experiences which informed the record, empathetic songwriting, and aiming for “big feelings and big sounds”.

“I always just try not to be cruel,” she says. “If I’m going to be singing about someone, it’s got to come from a place of wanting to be closer – a place of wanting to be more understood, or wanting to understand someone more.”
