The London band are heading to the West Yorkshire city on Friday July 31 as part of their 2026 outdoor headline tour. It’ll follow their run of reunion shows last year, including an emotional return to Glastonbury and a bill-topping homecoming slot at All Points East.

Now, Orlando Weeks and co. have confirmed four special guest opening acts for their Kirkstall Abbey date. The ’00s indie-heavy line-up is led by Maxïmo Park, Everything Everything and Mystery Jets.

Opening the day will be rising Yorkshire singer-songwriter Fiona-Lee, who wrote: “Bloody chuffed with this!! Playing with the @themaccabees, @e_e_ and @mysteryjets IN THE NORTH!!! gunna be mad xxx.”

The Maccabees said: “Leeds!! This is going to be a special one – welcoming a lot of friends and musical heroes to the day. Tickets on sale now. ❤️.”

The Maccabees’ UK summer schedule also features concerts at London’s Alexandra Palace Park, Cornwall’s Eden Sessions, Siren Bristol and Brighton’s On The Beach, as well as a headline slot at Truck Festival 2026. You can find any remaining tickets here.

In the capital, The Maccabees will be joined by White Lies and NME Cover stars Westside Cowboy.

Speaking previously about the forthcoming dates, guitarist Felix White explained: “The year we’ve just had was so special to all of us, and so unexpected, that it has put some momentum in everyone collectively… and who wouldn’t want to do all that again?”

White teased last November that new music from the band may be coming in 2026, saying that these gigs “will either be the last Maccabees shows, or we’ll try and make some music and see where it goes”.

He later told NME about potential future material, explaining: “I think The Maccabees is never going to be a thing where you go, ‘Oh, we got another record, another record, another record…’ because, for better or worse, everyone cares too much about it.

“If we can get together and really feel all the stuff when you’re playing a song together – even if you’re in a bad mood, you can’t help but smile really big and have all the clichés like hairs on the back of your neck [standing up]… if we can find that secret again, then that will be a really amazing thing.”

Over the summer, the musician said it was “tempting” for The Maccabees to head back into the studio. He revealed that the band weren’t working on any new music at the time, saying: “Maybe because we’re not writing anything at the moment, there’s no tension. Or that idea of like, ‘Where’s the band going?’ It’s just like, ‘Oh, nice to see you!’ and then getting to kind of like bathe in all the catalogue is kind of great.”

White had previously admitted that the band’s live return “almost felt embarrassing” after their “definitive” break-up in 2017.

When speaking to NME at their rehearsals at the start of last year, The Maccabees confirmed there had been no talk of new music at that point: “The plan is to do [All Points East] and see how much we love it. We might hate each other by August.”

Maxïmo Park are currently touring the UK to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album, ‘A Certain Trigger’, and looked back on that era during an interview with NME last November.

Everything Everything, meanwhile, opened for The Maccabees at All Points East last summer. They later marked the 10th anniversary of their third album ‘Get To Heaven’ with a special UK and Ireland tour, and spoke to NME about the record a decade on.
