Sabrina Carpenter builds a man out of Pringles in surreal Super Bowl advert

Sabrina Carpenter has starred in a surreal Pringles advert that premiered during the Super Bowl – watch below.

The commercial sees the pop superstar assembling a ‘man’ named Pringleleo entirely out of the potato crisps after deciding she is “so tired of boys”. Carpenter and Pringeleo go out for dinner, fly a kite and get caught on kisscam at a game, before he is mobbed by a group of enthusiastic fans outside a concert.

A shortened 30-second version of the ad aired during NBC’s broadcast of Super Bowl LX tonight (February 8), while the extended version is available to watch below.

It has been directed by Vania Heymann and Gal Muggia, who also oversaw the video for Carpenter’s ‘Manchild’ last year.

Carpenter told The Hollywood Reporter: “Filming with a man made of Pringles was definitely a first for me. I trust directors Vania Heymann and Gal Muggia – we shot the ‘Manchild’ video together. They are so creative, and the partnership with them and the Pringles brand team allowed us to bring this to life in a way that felt so unhinged and hilarious in the best way.”

“It was important to me when making a commercial like this that the concept felt authentic to me and my brand,” she added. “I wanted to be able to incorporate my sense of humor and also create a commercial that felt a bit more nontraditional for a major snack brand.”

She was also asked whether she would like to extend her association with the Super Bowl to one day headline the halftime show. “Maybe one day!” she replied. “I gotta write a few more albums first.”

Last week, Carpenter sang ‘Manchild’ live at the Grammys. On an airport-themed set, she was dressed as a pilot and delivered her performance by walking down the luggage conveyor belts and waving traffic wands. She was nominated for six awards at the ceremony, but walked away empty-handed.

Carpenter was also the star of the revival of The Muppet Show this week, singing ‘Manchild’ with a troupe of muppet chickens and duetting with Kermit and Miss Piggy on ‘Islands In The Stream’.

Bad Bunny played the halftime show at the Super Bowl, while Green Day performed a politics-free medley in the opening ceremony, which left some fans disappointed.
