Travis Scott Closes ‘Historic Chapter’ as He Breaks Solo Rap Tour Sales Record

Travis Scott‘s recently wrapped Circus Maximus World Tour broke global records. The 85-stop tour across the globe became the highest-grossing solo rap tour in history after grossing $250 million and selling more than 2.2 million tickets in over 20 countries, according to Live Nation.

A source close to Scott’s camp tells Rolling Stone that the end of the tour marks the conclusion of a “historic chapter” in the rap star’s career, as he kicks off a new era that is set to go “beyond expectations.”

“Rap may have gone backwards this year, but Travis operates outside that sandbox,” the source tells Rolling Stone. “His engagement is unmatched for live shows, even when benchmarked against global pop headliners and legacy stadium acts. He’s built sustained, unprecedented global demand across music, product, and touring that functions independently of genre cycles.”

Scott launched the Circus Maximus Tour in celebration of his album Utopia in October 2023, taking it on six different legs over the span of two years. He first hit arenas in cities across North America, before heading to Europe, Latin America, and Oceania through 2024. After headlining Coachella this year, he took the tour to China, South Korea, India, and the United Arab Emirates. His last show of the run was in Mumbai on Nov. 19.

“This tour marks the close of a historic chapter,” the source says. “What comes next is being built at a scale far beyond the expectations typically placed on a ‘rap artist.’ He’s moving into a tier with virtually no competition.”

Scott’s shows in India also made history, as he delivered the largest rap concerts ever in the country, drawing 125,000 attendees, according to Live Nation. Scott brought several massive artists as special guests on the run, including Teezo Touchdown, Don Toliver, Sheck Wes, Nav, and Skilla Baby.
