Lenny Kravitz says fan ripped out his dreadlocks during Australian gig

Lenny Kravitz has said that a fan accidentally ripped out four of his dreadlocks during an Australian gig.

The musician is currently touring Australia in support of his 12th studio album, ‘Blue Electric Light’, which arrived in May last year.

During his show in Brisbane on Friday (November 21), one fan got over-excited amid a segment where he moves through the crowd during ‘Let Love Rule’, with Kravitz later revealing that they accidentally pulled his hair out.

“Brisbane, that was wild,” he said in a video shared on his Instagram Stories. “A very excited young lady pulled four dreadlocks out of the back of my head. You know how hard you’ve got to pull to rip those out of my head? Damn, baby.”

He went on to clarify that the moment won’t change the way he interacts with audiences during the track, which traditionally sees him step off the stage and into the crowd.

“I’m not going to stop coming out there for ‘Let Love Rule’ because that’s our moment together,” he added. “Brisbane, you’re wild. I love you.”

Kravitz’s Australian run continues on Tuesday (November 25) at Melbourne’s John Cain Arena, before he heads to Mildura on November 28 and Adelaide on November 29. The shows mark his first in the country since 2012.

In other Lenny Kravitz news, earlier this year, he showed fans a look at one of his homes in Paris, which has a private nightclub in the basement.

As highlighted by Travel Noire, this isn’t the only impressive bit of real estate owned by the guitarist. The ‘American Woman’ singer also owns a customised Airstream trailer in the Bahamas and a nearly 1000-acre former coffee plantation in Brazil.

Before that, the musician headlined the UEFA Champions League final show in London. The four-time Grammy Award winner performed as part of the Pepsi Kick Off Show at the Champions League final between Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid on June 1 at London’s Wembley Stadium.
