Yesterday (November 7), the Recording Academy revealed the full list of nominees for the 2026 Grammys, which are set to be presented at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on February 1.
Kendrick Lamar‘s 2024 album ‘GNX’ picked up nine nominations, while Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, Bad Bunny, Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish and Tyler, The Creator were well represented.
Among the nominees is Rosé, who’s up for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her track ‘APT.’ with Bruno Mars. It marks the first time a K-pop artist has been nominated in one of the “big four” categories.
After the nominations were revealed, the singer took to her Instagram story to share a clip of the tense moments leading up to the announcement.
In the video, she and her friends watch the ceremony while on a group FaceTime call. As the names are listed off for record of the year recognition, Rosé says, nervously: “Are we not going to get it?”
“Aw, maybe we’re not going to get it,” she adds, hiding behind her fists.
Then, when her and Mars’ names come on screen, everyone on the call goes crazy, celebrating and shouting: “Oh my god!”

It comes after Rosé became the first-ever Korean act to win Song of the Year at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs). ‘APT.’ broke numerous records and topped charts following its release in October – also becoming the fastest K-pop song to surpass one billion streams on Spotify.
‘APT.’ was named one of NME’s best 50 songs of 2024 and clinched the second spot on NME’s list of the best 25 K-pop songs of the year. Sara Delgado wrote of the track when it was awarded the second spot: “With pink-tinged flirty iconography, a genius interpolation of Toni Basil’s ‘Mickey’ and an infectiously funky chanted chorus, ‘APT.’ will go down in history as the perfect case study on how to launch a solo career. The cherry on top of a great package? The assist (vocally, but also creatively) from the ever-charismatic Bruno Mars.”
The song also scored a glowing five-star review, with NME’s Rhian Daly writing: “Truthfully, Rosé has never sounded as good as she does here. There’s a power and confidence in her voice that far surpasses her past performances, and the vintage pop-rock riffs and attitude – which echo with elements of Toni Basil, Blondie and Joan Jett – feel sublimely suited to her as an artist. Addictive, flirty and a whole lot of fun, ‘APT.’ is the perfect introduction to Rosé’s new chapter.”
Rosé is among many first-time nominees this year, alongside Addison Rae, Olivia Dean, KATSEYE, sombr, Lola Young and Alex Warren. You can find a full list here.
Since the nominees have been announced, fans have noticed several big hitters in the music industry who were eligible were still left without any recognition, including Lorde, The Weeknd, Gracie Abrams and Benson Boone.
All records to have been released since the end of August this year will be eligible for the 2027 Grammys, including the likes of Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’ and Doja Cat’s ‘Vie’.
In other news, YG Entertainment have recently responded to reports that BLACKPINK are due to release a new album this December.
