Back in 2021, Jennifer Hudson performed at Dolce & Gabbana’s Alta Moda show as the sunset in Venice, Italy. Her gown was a glittering mass of gold fabric, and her hair cascaded into a ponytail that ran the length of the dress. She was impossible to miss — and yet at some point, her security got her mixed up with Megan Thee Stallion.
“Remember that time we was in Italy for the Dolce thing?” Megan asked Hudson during a recent appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show. “Jennifer’s security kept snatchin’ me up! They was like, ‘C’mon, we gotta move, we gotta move.’ I’m like, ‘I’m not with you! It’s not me, I’m not her, I promise! But I’ll go with you if you really want me to.’”
The mix-up got Megan wondering about where her own guards were. “Your security kept snatchin’ me up, and I was like, ‘Where is my security?’ Maybe they were getting you, I don’t know,” she added. “But Jennifer’s security wanted me to be Jen real bad that day.”
Hudson experienced the inverse of the Megan mix-up while attending a recent NFL Super Bowl game. “I was leaving the event, guys, and they was like, ‘Megan!’” she recalled. “I turned around and I was like, ‘Are y’all serious? You think I’m Megan? But if I’m gonna look like anybody, I mean…”

Later in the episode, Megan asked Hudson what she would do first if they were to actually trade places for a day. The host already had something in mind, asking, “How do you get down with those knees?” It’s all in the thighs and ankles, the rapper explains, but “my thighs don’t work like yours,” Hudson tells her.
Last week, Megan released her latest single, “Lover Girl,” her second release of the year following “Whenever.”
