Reneé Rapp Postpones Third Show Due to Illness: ‘I Still Don’t Have a Voice’

The singer moved her concert in Charlotte, North Carolina, to Nov. 7 to ensure she can “perform safely”

Reneé Rapp postponed a third concert on her current tour, citing an ongoing illness that has caused her to lose her voice.

After delaying shows in Atlanta and Tampa on Sunday and Monday nights to Nov. 4 and 5, Rapp announced that she would also have to postpone tonight’s performance in Charlotte, North Carolina. The date will now take place on Nov. 7.

“As of right now, I still don’t have a voice,” she wrote in an Instagram Story last night. “I’m recovering slowly but still not in a place where I am able to perform safely tomorrow night at my hometown show- I am so sorry and heartbroken that I have to postpone.” She added that “all original tickets will be valid for the new date.”

“Again I want to stress that I know the time effort and preparation attending a show takes,” she contiued. “I promise you it doesn’t go unnoticed or unseen. I’m taking this time to recover and then next week for these rescheduled shows I will give you the best version of me. The best version of this show that | love so much. The show you deserve to see. I love y’all and I’m gonna see you, ATL and Tampa next week. Thank you for all of your thoughts and well-wishes.”

On Sunday, Rapp announced she was postponing her tour dates in Atlanta and Tampa, noting this marked the first time in her career she had to reschedule a show. “I’ve been pushing through an illness but my body has finally given out,” she wrote. “My doctors have told me that it isn’t safe to perform due to the need for vocal rest and physical recovery.”
