CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso’s stunning ‘On Tape’ live performance of ‘EL DÍA DEL AMIGO

CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso have shared a live version of ‘EL DÍA DEL AMIGO’ from the ‘Bose x NME: C25’ mixtape – check out the fiery performance above.

Released last week, the mixtape celebrates the next generation of music talent from around the world. It features Parcels’ chilled-out  ‘Summerinlove’, Zimmer90’s dreamy ‘what a life’, Alex Warren’s gorgeous orchestral reworking of his hit single ‘Eternity’ and ZIN CHOI’s swaggering bedroom-pop banger ‘microGiant’.

Rounding out the eight tracks are ‘Will We Ever Wake Up’ from rave king Cloonee, Diplo’s remix of buzzy Korean co-ed group ALLDAY PROJECT’s ‘WICKED’ and LANA’s sleek ‘Icy Tale’. ‘C25’ also includes a fiery live version of CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso’s energetic ‘EL DÍA DEL AMIGO’ and now, as part of the On Tape series, fans can enjoy a chaotic video of the pair performing their funk-pop banger in a brutalist German sports hall on the outskirts of Berlin.

According to the Argentine duo, ‘EL DÍA DEL AMIGO’ was written “because we’ve been friends forever and never actually had a song that talked about our friendship.”

They first met at school in Buenos Aires when they were just six years old: “We randomly sat next to each other, and when the teacher called our names during roll call, the last names were almost identical. The teacher asked us if we were brothers, and we just said yes. And from that moment we’ve been friends; we became inseparable.”

On Tape is an innovative video series featuring one-take, 360-degree performances in carefully selected locations with emotional significance for each artist. Filmed in north Berlin’s Sportcenter Wittenau, CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso’s On Tape video sees the pair sharing their influences (Baxter Dury, Danny Brown, Miguel Abuelo), perfecting their forehands and talking about the importance of physical media. “It makes the listening experience more personal,” says Amoroso (real name Ulises Guerriero).

Other On Tape episodes on the C25 campaign have included Alex Warren performing in his hometown of Nashville alongside a full orchestra at the Grand Lodge Of Tennessee, while Parcels brought the lush ‘Summerinlove’ to iconic east London gig venue Bethnal Green Working Mens Club.
