The follow-up to their breakthrough EP ‘Face In The Picture’ is set to arrive on November 14, and you can pre-order/pre-save it here. The 11-track record was shaped by rock’n’roll mythology, drawing from Northern Soul dancefloors to dive bars.

Talking about the creation of the record in a press release, the group – made up of singer Katherine Parlour and lead guitarist Ella Risi – said: “One through line in this process was that we kept finding ourselves returning to this one state of mind, which became known as The Parlour. It kept us sane, kept us swinging and consistently reminded us of who we are and what Picture Parlour is at its core.

“It’s magical to now present this place where people can hide away with us and experience our strange world. With any universe, a spectrum of emotion and experiences are at play. In The Parlour, we explore a wide emotional spectrum through the varying moods of all eleven tracks. As with our live shows, we’re here to take our listeners on a unique journey as authentically as possible.

“It’s not always pretty, or neatly packaged. All we’ve ever wanted is to set an intense and indescribable mood and to nurture that electricity for the entire sonic and visual experience.”

To mark the announcement, the band shared ‘Used To Be Your Girlfriend’, a self-assured psych-rock exploration of outgrowing people you once loved: “I used to be your girlfriend / and now you’ve got a baby / I’ve been thinking about it lately.”

Picture Parlour graced the NME Cover back in 2023, and opened up about how they first got momentum with their debut single ‘Norwegian Wood’, and explained why they think playing live is so vital to their growth.

“It’s like we’re in the middle of a perfect storm,” said Parlour. “Whenever we have played live shows, ‘Norwegian Wood’ is the song that we talk about when we all come offstage; we are always like, ‘Wow, that one was really special.’”

Risi continued: “Playing live is a massive part of who we are. We’ve gigged so much, and embraced the reception to it so many times now that it felt like the obvious choice.”
