Taylor Swift‘s cinematic release party for her new album ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’ grossed $15million (£11million) in pre-sales in just 24 hours, and is expected to bring in a huge overall sum.

Last Friday (September 19), Swift announced that she would be bringing the LP to the big screen with an 89-minute “release party” event, dubbed Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party Of A Showgirl.

The screenings are scheduled to run across three days (Friday October 3 to Sunday October 5) and will feature the premiere of the music video for the album’s lead single, ‘The Fate Of Ophelia’.

According to Deadline, Release Party Of A Showgirl earned $15million (£11million) in its first 24 hours of going on pre-sale last week.

The outlet reports that the film’s sole weekend in cinemas will gross somewhere between $30million to $50million (£22.2million to £37million).

Fans in the US can watch the movie at branches of AMC Theatres, Cinemark and Regal theatres.

It is said that AMC saw its sixth-highest day of pre-sales last Friday with Release Party Of A Showgirl, which were at around $7.5million (£5.5million).

Swift’s 2023 Eras Tour live film became the highest-grossing concert movie of all time last year. Deadline notes that the project – which was also distributed by AMC Theatres – has now grossed $267.1million worldwide.

Release Party Of A Showgirl will also be available across the same dates in countries including Canada, Mexico, the UK, France, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

Tickets for showtimes in these locations will go on sale tomorrow (Tuesday September 23).

When announcing Release Party Of A Showgirl, Swift described the film as “a *dazzling* soirée”.

She continued: “You’ll get to see the exclusive world premiere of the music video for my new single ‘The Fate Of Ophelia’, along with never before seen behind-the-scenes footage of how we made it, cut by cut explanations of what inspired this music, and the brand new lyric videos from my new album ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’ ❤️‍🔥.

“Looks like it’s time to brush off that Eras Tour outfit or orange cardigan… Tickets are on sale now. Dancing is optional but very much encouraged 💃.”

In other news, Swift will make a return to The Graham Norton Show on her album release day next month. Meanwhile, approximately 500 Target branches in the US are set to open at midnight that day to sell ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’.
