D4vd linked to home that police searched after body was found inside a Tesla under his name

D4vd was reportedly staying in the home that Los Angeles Police recently searched in connection to a missing teenage girl, whose body was found in the boot of a Tesla registered in his name.

The four-bedroom home is based on Doheny Place in the Hollywood Hills, and law enforcement officers have told Rolling Stone that investigators “recovered items” from the building on Wednesday (September 17) after a judge issued a search warrant.

Mladen Trifunovic, who owns the house, told the outlet that he “wasn’t aware” that the singer (real name David Anthony Burke) had been living there, until he was notified by his real estate manager yesterday (Thursday September 18).

He said that the news “came as a complete shock” as he “had no idea anything had happened at the house.”

The lease was with D4vd’s manager, Josh Marshall, and began in February 2024, Trifunovic claimed.

The house on Doheny Place is reportedly only around 500 feet (143meters) from the parking spot on Bluebird Avenue, where the singer’s Tesla was abandoned. The car stayed in that location for at least three weeks before being towed to an impound lot on September 5.

On September 8, a body was found in the vehicle after police were called out about a horrible stench coming from the car. Officers said that the Tesla had been there for a couple of days, and the body was inside a bag in the front boot.

Investigators took over a week to identify the body as it was “severely decomposed” and had been inside the car “for an extended period of time before being found”. The victim, now identified as 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, is reported to have wavy black hair and a tattoo on her right index finger that read, “Shhh…” (via ABC News) A cause of death has not been publicly shared.

Back in February, Burke seemingly posted photos of himself inside the Doheny Place home on Instagram. These included photos of him by a piano and alongside a large sculpture, and outlets including TMZ reports that the home seen in the pictures has distinct similarities to that seen of the house on its online rental profile.

TMZ also claims that Rivas’ mother allegedly said that her daughter had been dating someone called “David” before her death, although this has not been confirmed. People reported in April that D4vd has a similar “Shhh…” tattoo on his index finger.

Burke’s lawyer has not issued a statement at time of writing. NME has reached out for comment.

Rolling Stone reports that the victim’s family declined to share any comment with the reporters that gathered outside their home on Wednesday (September 17).

Law enforcement said earlier this month that Burke had been informed of the investigation and was “cooperating” with authorities. The singer is currently on tour to celebrate his ‘Withered’ album, which came out in April. He will perform in Los Angeles tomorrow (September 20), and afterwards, he’ll start the European and UK leg of the tour in October.

Both Crocs and Hollister have pulled back on a campaign that was set to feature the singer, and in a statement to Footwear News, the brands said: “We are aware of this developing story. With respect to the current situation, we have removed campaign content featuring D4vd while the investigation continues.”
