Oasis have shared an official live version of ‘Wonderwall’, recorded during the Dublin leg of their ongoing ‘Live ‘25’ reunion tour. Check it out below.
The highly-awaited tour kicked off in July with two nights at Principality Stadium in Cardiff. Since then, it has seen Liam and Noel Gallagher play gigs in Heaton Park in Manchester, London’s Wembley Stadium, the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh, and two stops at Croke Park in Dublin.
So far, the band have been releasing live tracks from different venues they’ve played since the tour began. They started by sharing ‘Slide Away’ live from Cardiff, before following it up with ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’ in Manchester, ‘Little By Little’ in London and ‘Bring It On Down’ from Edinburgh.
Now, Oasis have shared a live version of ‘Wonderwall’ from their first show in Dublin last month. You can listen to it below.
“Where the fuck would we all be without ‘Wonderwall’ eh? Where would we be? Selling carpets or some shit like that” you can hear Liam saying as he introduces the classic track, which took them to Number Two in the UK album charts when it was first released in 1995 and became a global hit.
He adds: “Right then Dublin, you’ve been the fucking bollocks man and it’s nice to be back.”
The band are currently on the North American leg of their tour, with their most recent shows taking place at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey where they dedicated ‘Live Forever’ to the victims of the Minneapolis church shooting on the first night earlier this week.
Last Wednesday (August 27), a shooter targeted a group of people outside the Church of the Annunciation in Minneapolis before morning mass, killing two children and injuring eighteen others. The perpetrator then killed himself.
They will perform at the Hollywood Rosebowl later this week, before heading to Pasadena and Mexico City, and back for two extra shows at Wembley Stadium at the end of the month. They will go on to play South Korea, Japan, Australia, Argentina, Chile and Brazil before the end of the year.
Speaking about the tour, Noel recently said: “It’s great just to be back with Bonehead and Liam, and just be doing it again. I guess when it’s all said and done, I’ll sit and reflect on it, but it’s great being back in a band with Liam. I’d forgotten how funny he was.”
NME gave Oasis’ historic first comeback concert at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium a glowing five-star review, writing: “After a ‘90s heyday and an often maligned post-millennium era, this is Oasis redesigned for the 21st Century.”
“Playing before a pop-art-meets-psychedelia visual spectacular that never distracts but will look sick on a phone, they seem the quintessential stadium band playing the greatest hits of greatest hits.”
