Conan Gray, Doja Cat, Tate McRae Join 2025 MTV VMAs Performance Lineup

Post Malone and Jelly Roll will also perform when the awards show airs live Sept. 7 on CBS from the UBS Arena in New York

Conan Gray and Tate McRae will make their main stage debuts at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards when the show airs live Sept. 7 on CBS from the UBS Arena in New York. They join newly-announced performers Jelly Roll, Doja Cat, and Post Malone.

Gray will perform “Vodka Cranberry” from his recently released fourth studio album Wishbone for his first appearance on the show since 2022, when he performed “Disaster” and “Memories” on the Extended Play stage.

McRae’s choreography-forward performance style is what the VMAs are all about, or used to be, at least. The singer released her third studio album, So Close to What, earlier this year, led by the single “Sports Car.” She also found success with singles “Revolving Door” and “It’s Ok I’m Ok,” giving her a few options for her debut on the awards show.

Doja Cat’s return comes as she launches into her upcoming fifth studio album, Vie, out Sept. 26. The rapper and singer recently shared the ’80s-tinged record “Jealous Type,” produced by Jack Antonoff and Y2K. The VMAs will mark the first live performance of the song and her first appearance on the show since 2023.

Meanwhile, Malone will be taking the stage for the first time since 2018. He’s nominated this year for “Pour Me A Drink,” his collaboration with Blake Shelton from his country record F-1 Trillion. Jelly Roll also appeared on that record, but has plenty of his own songs to bring to the forefront in his VMAs debut.

The new slate of performers joins previously announced artists Sabrina Carpenter, J Balvin, Sombr, and Alex Warren. 2025 MTV VMAs Video Vanguard Award recipient Mariah Carey will also perform. Additionally, Busta Rhymes will be recognized with the inaugural MTV VMA Rock the Bells Visionary Award, and Ricky Martin is set to receive the first Latin Icon Award.
