Watch Jeff Goldblum’s cameo in Dodie’s new video for ‘I Feel Bad For You, Dave’

Dodie has shared a new music video for her latest single ‘I Feel Bad For You, Dave’, which features a cameo from Jeff Goldblum. Check it out below.

The new track sees the singer lean into bossa nova influences, and call out the toxic aspects of social media. It is taken from her forthcoming second album, ‘Not For Lack of Trying’ – which follows her 2021 debut ‘Build A Problem’.

As Dodie says herself, the song is a tongue-in-cheek track that takes a look at the narcissism displayed by some people. “[It’s] a song about the ego of people who feel as though they lack power, so try to gain it in ways that ironically have the opposite effect. We all know a Dave,” she said.

It also partly comes as a response to keyboard warriors and online trolls who targeted her friend with racist abuse. “I did not know what to do – I wanted to just drag them down, I wanted to reply to them and make videos about them,” she explained. “And I was like, ‘OK, I can’t do any of that, so I’ll write a song.’”

Check it out below, along with a new retro-style music video that opens with a cameo from Jeff Goldblum.

The collaboration with the Jurassic Park icon follows on from Dodie joining him on stage in the UK on two different occasions this year. She appeared with the actor, jazz singer and pianist during his concerts with The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra at London’s Palladium and Kingston’s Pryzm.

As for the upcoming album, Dodie’s second LP will arrive on October 3 via Decca / Verve. It was written mostly between London and Los Angeles, and produced alongside Grammy-nominated Joe Rubel (Maisie Peters, Griff, Sigrid). Visit here to pre-order.

Later this year, the singer-songwriter will embark on a tour of the UK and Europe – with dates taking place between October and November. Today (August 26), she also announced new North American dates for February and March 2026.
