Tyler, the Creator can’t help falling in love in his self-directed video for “Darling, I.” Slipping back into the world of Chromakopia, the rapper gives his heart to a host of cameo crushes, including Willow, Nia Long, Ayo Edebiri, Lauren London, and Chase Infiniti.
Tyler goes from date to date in the video, sharing special moments with each romantic prospect. But as he sings, “See, monogamy, that shit is not for me (Nah)/One option for everybody? Don’t you lie to me.” The Chromakopia track features Teezo Touchdown, who makes an appearance in the video during Tyler’s date with London and later as a bus driver who sings while a teary-eyed girl boards.
As the polyamory final boss, Tyler can’t commit to one relationship. “I love this girl, though, I hit the gold mine/I’m thinkin’ new crib, I’m thinkin’ two kids/Until I get infatuated with a new bitch,” he raps on the second verse. “But when that grey hair finally come (Uh-huh)/At least I felt somethin’ if I ain’t find the one/Nobody could fulfill me like this music shit does/So I’ll be lonely with these Grammys when it’s all said and done.”
He leaves each woman with a parting gift: his literal beating heart, still soaked in his blood.

Tyler briefly hit pause on Chromakopia to reside in the more buoyant world of Don’t Tap the Glass, the album he released last month. So far, he has shared videos for “Sugar on My Tongue” and “Stop Playing With Me,” which featured appearances from Clipse and Lebron James.
“It was being silly, just fun again. Because Chromakopia was so like, for me… I’m not saying it’s the most mature, deep shit. Everyone has different lives,” Tyler told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. “But for me, whether it’s me talking about my relationship with my hair and how that’s affected me, or me almost being a father last year, or the relationship that I have with my father now, just so many things that I decided to dive deep into.”
