The house in Golant, which is home to Sawmills Studio, has been put on the market for £1.95million, according to a property listing.

Liam and Noel Gallagher recorded most of their seminal record at the studio 31 years ago, which has hosted the likes of The Stone Roses, Muse and Robert Plant over the years.

The band – which was comprised of Noel, Liam, Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs, Paul ‘Guigsy’ McGuigan and Tony McCarroll at the time – also stayed at the studio, which is only accessible by a trek on foot or a boat that runs twice a day when the tide is right.

Having also recorded at Monnow Valley Studios in south Wales, co-owner of Sawmills Studio, Dennis Smith, previously said the band “were desperate to have another go, and they had 10 days to do it, and it was a question of getting it right this time”.

Despite getting the album recorded, the results were still deemed unsatisfactory which resulted in Creation’s Marcus Russell contacting engineer and producer Owen Morris, who went on to successfully mix the record at Johnny Marr‘s studio in Manchester.

According to a listing: “The Old Sawmills enjoys a secluded setting on the western bank of the River Fowey, overlooking a tidal creek and within an area of outstanding beauty. To be sold on the open market for the first time in 50 years, The Old Sawmills is a truly unique and secluded waterside property set.”

The listing added: “Accessible only by boat or on foot, it offers outstanding character and potential in one of Cornwall’s most idyllic waterfront settings.”

Along with the recording studio, the property has seven bedrooms, two reception rooms, and a detached two bedroom lodge.

The studio is equipped with a control room, vocal booth, and main live room featuring a Juliet balcony with a view across the creek.

The listing went on: “Landmark albums like ‘Definitely Maybe’, [Supergrass’] ‘In It For The Money, and [Muse’s] ‘Origin of Symmetry’ were recorded here, firmly establishing the studio’s place in music history.”

Elsewhere, Oasis kicked off the first of their ‘Live ‘25’ Dublin shows at Croke Park last night (August 16) for the first time since 2008.

During the show, ‘Stand By Me’ – which was previously dedicated to Susan Boyle – was dedicated to the Gallagher brothers’ mum, Peggy, who was in attendance.

Following their shows in Dublin, Oasis will now head across the Atlantic for the North American tour. Dates in Toronto, Chicago, East Rutherford, Pasadena and Mexico City will take them to the middle of September, when they head back for two final nights at Wembley.

Then, later in the year, they’ll play in South Korea, Japan, Australia, Argentina, Chile and Brazil.

NME gave Oasis’ first concert at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium a glowing five-star review, writing: “After a ‘90s heyday and an often maligned post-millennium era, this is Oasis redesigned for the 21st Century.”

“Playing before a pop-art-meets-psychedelia visual spectacular that never distracts but will look sick on a phone, they seem the quintessential stadium band playing the greatest hits of greatest hits,” it added.
