BLACKPINK are currently on their first headline tour since their record-breaking ‘Born Pink World Tour’, which ran between 2022 and 2023. Last night (August 16), they played the second of two shows at London’s Wembley Stadium – becoming the first K-pop girl band to headline the venue.

To mark the occasion, they honoured their girl group predecessors with a cover of Spice Girls’ 1998 debut single. It’s not the first time they’ve encountered the song together, having previously sung it during James Corden‘s Carpool Karaoke back in 2023.

At the time, Jennie said that they all “really like how [the Spice Girls] have their own individual characters and that was something we were aiming for, and it was such an iconic girl group that we grew up listening to”.

Check out their cover below.

During their first night at Wembley, FKA Twigs made a surprise appearance with Rosé, appearing on the screen taking shots together backstage.

Last month, BLACKPINK released the techno-inspired song ‘Jump’, marking their first release in three years. It was first premiered at the ‘Deadline’ concert in South Korea.

Meanwhile, recent reports from a South Korean news outlet suggest BLACKPINK are supposedly releasing a new EP later this year.

Since BLACKPINK’s last album – 2022’s ‘Born Pink’ – all four members have explored solo careers, including albums by Jennie, Rosé, Lisa and Jisoo. Additionally, Lisa made her acting debut in HBO’s The White Lotus season three.

The tour resumes in Asia throughout October and December, including stops in Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines and Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, rumours have emerged this year that a Spice Girls reunion tour may be on the cards, after the five members gave a surprise performance at Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday party last year in April.

Mel B has also said the group would “definitely [be] doing something” for their 30th anniversary. If a reunion tour were to happen, it would mark the Spice Girls’ first tour together since their successful 2019 tour.
