My Nu Leng have announced their split, after 15 years of working together.
The Bristol-based drum ‘n’ bass duo, comprised of Tommy Jackson and Jammo Irving, announced the news last week, writing on Instagram: “After 15 incredible years of touring, producing and living our dreams… it’s time for us to close the My Nu Leng chapter”.
“We are grateful for every moment, the early sets in tiny clubs and sleeping on promoters’ floors to the festivals and shows around the world,” they continued. “We will forever be proud of everything we have achieved together!
Thank you to every promoter that booked us, the labels who believed in us and every single person who bought a ticket and streamed or downloaded our music,” the statement concluded. “Biggest love to you all!”
They then went on to confirm that their final-ever show will be this Friday (August 8) at Boomtown Festival. You can find any remaining tickets here.
Jackson and Irving formed My Nu Leng in Bristol in 2012, fusing drum ‘n’ bass and tech-oriented sounds, and went on to release music on labels such as Black Butter, Shogun Audio and UKF, as well as a 30-track Fabriclive mix in 2016.
In 2022, they established ‘Wavelengths’, their own imprint, which operated as an evolution of their Rinse FM show.
In December 2023, Jackson and Irving announced plans to work under a new alias, MNL, as part of what they called at the time “a new chapter” to “allow us to explore a different sound that we’ve been working on, delving into more diverse and experimental electronic vibes.”
“We’ve had so many amazing moments as My Nu Leng and we’re not closing the door on that part of our journey, but opening a new one with MNL. One that we are both very passionate about and can’t wait to jump into,” they said at the time. As MNL, they released one EP ‘For The Longest Time’.
Jackson and Irving will continue to work on solo projects, their statement says.
