Billie Eilish reveals she’s working on “something very special” with James Cameron

Billie Eilish has revealed that she’s working on “something very, very special” with James Cameron.

The singer hinted at the collaboration on Saturday (July 19) during the first of a four-night stint at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena.

“So you may have noticed there’s like more cameras than usual,” she told the crowd. “Basically, I can’t say much about it, but what I can say is that I’m working on something very, very special with James Cameron.”

While she didn’t provide many details, she did add that “it’s gonna be in 3D”, and that the filmmaker was in attendance at the concert that night.

She also implied that the filming will continue to take place throughout her four dates in Manchester. “You and me are part of the thing that I’m making with him,” she added. “Also, I’ll probably be wearing this exact outfit for like four days in a row.”

In addition to Saturday’s set, she is performing in Manchester tonight (July 20), and July 22 and 23, before she heads to Dublin for two shows on July 26 and 27. You can view a full list of tour dates here and purchase any remaining tickets here.

NME caught the opening night of Eilish’s six-night stint at London’s O2 Arena earlier this month, giving the performance a glowing five-star review which read: “It’s the perfect example of how Eilish has grown in the last three years and since the start of her career – always an artist who’s been able to write killer songs, but one who consistently finds a way to level up and tap deeper into universal emotions.

“Her latest O2 residency may be over now, but next time we see Eilish in London, we bet it’ll be with shows – and songs – that take her to even greater heights.”

Elsewhere on the tour so far, Eilish performed a powerful and emotional cover of Paramore‘s ‘The Only Exception’ at a concert in Paris, and earlier this year joined Charli XCX during her Coachella 2025 set for a rendition of their collaboration ‘Guess’, for which they were recently nominated for a Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

Earlier this month, she also spoke out about Israel’s relocation plans for Gaza, labelling it as “horrifying”.

As for Cameron, he recently criticised fellow director Christopher Nolan over the latter’s Oscar winning film, Oppenheimer.

The Avatar director described Oppenheimer as a “moral cop out” saying the film “dodged the subject” in reference to the way the film dealt with the history of the Hiroshima bomb.
