Check out Master Peace’s indie sleaze-flavoured new single ‘Harley’

Master Peace has returned with the new indie sleaze-flavoured single ‘Harley’ – check out the song’s video below.

The South East London artist has had a number of standout moments in recent months, including guesting with Franz Ferdinand at Glastonbury on their collaboration ‘Hooked’ and appearing on the new AJ Tracey album ‘Don’t Die Before You’re Dead’.

Now, he has released ‘Harley’, which has been produced by the influential Dan Carey (Wet Leg, Squid, Kae Tempest) and released via Carey’s Speedy Wunderground label as part of its Speedy Single Series. You can pre-order the 7” single, which is released on August 7, here.

‘Harley’ is based around a dirty indie rock guitar riff, with Master Peace bragging about the intimate details of his relationship: “We love to love, we love to fuck, we get it done / One rule for us, one rule for them, it’s that or none”.

Master Peace released his debut album ‘How To Make A Master Peace’ last year, earning an Ivor Novello Rising Star award. Since then, he has recorded the Franz Ferdinand collaboration, which was released on the Glasgow band’s album ‘The Human Fear’ earlier this year.

As he told NME backstage at Glastonbury, his guest spot on the Other Stage at this year’s festival came as a surprise even to him. “I’m just shocked that I’m sat here with Alex Kapranos and Peter Capaldi!” he said. “What the fuck? My street cred – everyone’s gotta talk to me nice after this. This is crazy.”

He also explained that he has been a fan of Franz Ferdinand for many years. “Big fan, from the get-go,” he said. “Even when I first started making indie music, I was like, ‘I wanna get in the studio and make something with Franz Ferdinand’. I just begged my manager.”

Last year, Master Peace told NME that he plans for his second album to be “wild”, saying he wanted to “go crazy” and explore the sound of indie sleaze much deeper. “I think to make a masterpiece you need to be authentically yourself and not caring too much about what people think too much,” he explained. “I’m bringing indie back, 100 per cent!”
