Yungblud was forced to cancel a pair of concerts in England and Scotland as he continues to battle tonsillitis.
The musician nixed a gig in Dundee, Scotland, on Thursday, July 10, before revealing on Instagram Stories that he would also be postponing his July 11 show in Liverpool, as well. Yungblud promised to reschedule both gigs (likely around his arena tour next year) and promised to take the stage next week for his shows in Bristol and Southampton.
“My fucking tonsillitis still hasn’t cleared up so I’m getting steroid treatment,” Yungblud wrote. “I have plans to get the fuckers out as they’re a weak point for me, but I need to find some time as obviously we’ve been non-stop. I’m ready to rock but my body is letting me down this week, I hate being in bed it terrifies me.”
Yungblud went on to say that his doctor asked him to postpone the Liverpool gig, even though he was still able to sing. “Please understand I hate letting you down,” he wrote to fans. “I want say fuck it and just do it but they said I could really do damage to my voice.”
As a way to make it up to the fans in Liverpool, Yungblud said he put some money down at a local bar. “If you go tomorrow night and show your ticket you get a free drink on me,” he said. “I know some of you have traveled.”
He continued, “I’m so sad I can’t be there but at least you can be together and celebrate each other, as that’s what Yungblud is all about. Go to the bar play the tunes and have a good time. I love you.”
