Ludvig Forssell’s score for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is available to stream now.
After composing the orchestral score for the original Death Stranding, Ludvig Forssell returned to soundtrack the sequel, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach. The game was released last week and shortly afterwards, Forssell’s 56-track soundtrack was made available to stream.
“It’s an honour to be back having composed music for Death Stranding 2,” he wrote on social media. “Huge thanks to everyone who came along on the journey to create this! And thank you to Hideo Kojima for putting their trust in me again!”

The album starts with ‘Should We Have Connected?’ which is one of the key themes of Death Stranding 2, while ‘One Last Fight Part 2’ and ‘Homecoming’ feature vocals from Troy Baker, who plays antagonist Higgs in the game. Musician Amelie Anna also appears on the seven-minute ‘På En Mörk, Stjärnklar Natt’.
Woodkid also created a more pop-focused soundtrack to Death Stranding 2, which features collaborations with Elle Fanning and The National’s Bryce Dessnerr, while Caroline Polachek created the game’s title track.
“‘On The Beach’ was actually one of the first songs I ever made with Danny L Harle, but it was too alien and industrial- almost too evil – to work sense on [her 2019 album] ‘Pang’, so I set it aside til the right thing came along,” said Polachek.
“When Kojima approached me about Death Stranding 2, I showed him the sketch of it and he agreed that it was a perfect fit, and so eight years after starting this song, it got reopened, extended, and finished for the perfect setting.”
Meanwhile, creator Hideo Kojima celebrated the launch of Death Stranding 2 by shredding on a custom-made electric guitar. Fans have since used the footage to make it look like the game developer is rocking out to a number of different songs, including Bring Me The Horizon’s ‘Ludens’.
In other news, a Fortnite cheat has been ordered by the courts to pay developers $175,000 and has also received a lifetime ban from the game.
