Charli XCX gave ‘Brat Summer’ a final victory lap during her huge Other Stage headline set at Glastonbury 2025.
The singer played the biggest show of her Glastonbury career on Saturday night (June 28), headlining the Worthy Farm festival’s second stage in front of an enormous and expectant crowd.
“Glastonbury, get the fuck up!” Charli screamed as she strutted onto the stage, and with that the familiar neon lime, lower case serif backdrop appeared and the pounding opening strains of Shygirl’s mix of ‘365’ pulverised the air.
In the weeks following ‘Brat’s original release last summer, Charli played a way over-subscribed Partygirl DJ set on the Levels Stage at Glastonbury, the festival’s open-air –and limited in size – nightclub, where she was joined by Robyn and The xx’s Romy.

This time around, her set was more of a celebration of 2024’s most discussed album, with ‘360’ and ‘Von Dutch’ setting the huge Other Stage crowd alight. In a symbolic moment of a possible end of an era, however, Charli clicked her fingers early on and the ‘Brat’ backdrop burst into virtual flames, never to return.
“This one’s for all my people that are going to Block9 tonight,” she later said, referring to the festival’s underground alternative dance area, before launching into ‘Club Classics’.
Brandishing a large glass of white wine, she asked: “You know what time it is, now who the fuck is going to be ‘Apple’ girl at Glastonbury?” The ritual tradition of a big name performing the viral dance associated with the song has been a key part of Charli’s ‘Brat’-era shows and on this night, it was Gracie Abrams who filled the role, with her set on the same stage on Friday having been attended by Charli herself.

Hopes of a Lorde appearance for the remix of ‘Girl, So Confusing’ did not materialise, despite the New Zealand singer having been on site on Friday for a surprise set on the Woodsies Stage, where she played her new album ‘Virgin’ in full in a five-star set.
“Look, I’m known to have the heart of a stone, but this is very fucking emotional right now,” she told the crowd. “So thank you so much for being here with me, it really means the world. Thank you very, very much, you’re cool as fuck. But not as cool as me, bitch!”
Charli played the set entirely solo, bringing it to a pulsing conclusion with ‘I Love It’, the 2012 single she released with Icona Pop.
As the final strains rang out, a departing message appeared on the big screen: “Thank you so much Glastonbury. So we burnt it down – does that mean Brat is finally over?? Maybe it is. But probably NOT. But we had to do it. And it looked cool. I think you all have proven to me that Brat is forever <3. I don’t know who I am if it’s over. It wasn’t just a summer thing…it’s a forever thing xx”

Elsewhere, Glastonbury has seen politically charged sets from Kneecap, Bob Vylan and Amyl & The Sniffers, as well as a spunky set from Wet Leg, Lewis Capaldi’s triumphant return for a secret set at the Pyramid Stage, a surprise appearance by Peter Capaldi at Franz Ferdinand’s set, and more.
The 1975 headlined the Pyramid Stage last night (June 27), earning a four-star review from NME, which read: “With their one show of the year, “The 1975 from the Internet” clear the decks on their career so far to deliver a reminder of their chops for tunes and showmanship away from the headlines.”
