Steven Van Zandt will miss a handful of Bruce Springsteen shows as he recovers from emergency appendix surgery.

Last night (June 24), the musician told fans he wouldn’t be in attendance when the E Street Band continued on their European run in Spain’s Estadio Reale Arena, but shared that he expected to be back on stage within a week.
Explaining his sudden illness, he took to Instagram to say he got a sharp pain in his stomach he assumed was poising, but “turned out to be appendicitis”.
“Got lucky with an exceptional hospital in San Sebastian,” he continued. “Operation was a complete success and I’m hoping to get back on stage for at least one of the shows in Milan. Thank you all for all the good vibes. See you soon.”

27 – Gelsenkirchen, Germany – Veltins Arena (tickets from October 9, 10am CEST)
30 – Milan, Italy – San Siro Stadium (rescheduled from June 1, 2024)
JULY
3 – Milan, Italy – San Siro Stadium (rescheduled from June 3, 2024)
As for The Boss, the first trailer for his highly anticipated biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere was shared recently, giving fans a first look at The Bear star Jeremy Allen White as the legendary musician. The film is scheduled for worldwide release on October 24.
Springsteen also recently said that the film contained moments from his life that were so “painful” he couldn’t be on set. “I mean, there’s some unusualness to it because the movie involves, in some ways, some of the most painful days of my life,” he told Rolling Stone.
“If there was a scene coming up that was sometimes really deeply personal, I wanted the actors to feel completely free, and I didn’t want to get in the way, and so I would just stay at home.”
The singer-songwriter is set to release seven never-heard-before records next Friday (June 27) as part of a new compilation, titled ‘Tracks II: The Lost Albums’. It’ll contain 83 songs that were written across his expansive career.
He also recently confirmed the existence of an electric version of his 1982 album ‘Nebraska’.
