Jazzy selects ‘Irish House Bangers’ in her exclusive playlist to accompany The Cover

NME’s latest star of The Cover, Jazzy, has put together an exclusive playlist to accompany the story’s launch – check it out below.

The Dublin dance DJ and singer is on this week’s (June 23) edition of The Cover, a manifestation of NME’s commitment to supporting emerging talent across the globe on a weekly basis. Every week, a rising artist will feature on The Cover – you can read Jazzy’s profile here, written by Nick Levine and featuring photography by Fiona Garden.

Jazzy has created her own exclusive playlist to go alongside The Cover, featuring some of her favourite Irish house bangers. The playlist includes tracks by her frequent collaborators Belters Only, plus Kyle Meehan, Dart, Bl3ss and more. Listen to it in full on Spotify below and on Apple Music.

After topping the Irish charts with Belters Only and their track ‘Make Me Feel Good’, Jazzy’s debut solo single ‘Giving Me’ repeated the feat in 2023. It went on to become the biggest debut single of that year in the UK and teed up a run of smash hits for the rising artist, plus BRIT nominations and the most monthly Spotify listeners of any Irish female solo artist – including Enya and Sinead O’Connor.

Jazzy, though, is taking all of these accolades in her stride. “I play anything down,” she says of her growing list of achievements. “No matter how big it is, I tell myself it’s not a big deal.” Surely that was hard when ‘Make Me Feel Good’ and ‘Giving Me’ both hit Number One in Ireland? “I’ve gotten quite good at it now, to be honest; I haven’t had too many freak-outs. So yeah, I feel well with it.”

Elsewhere in The Cover, Jazzy discusses her journey from violinist to DJ, her relationship with clubbing and how her heritage influences the music she makes.
