The musician’s latest album, Just Keke, is out this week
Keke Palmer appeared on The Tonight Show to perform a medley of tracks, including “125 Degrees” and “Off Script.” The singer was backed by house band the Roots, as well as several dancers, as she showcased the songs, which off her new LP, Just Keke.
The album, out today, is the third full-length effort from the singer and actress. Her last album, Big Boss, dropped in 2023.
“Just Keke isn’t just an album — it’s my real life,” Palmer explained on Instagram. “Since So Uncool I have tried to preform the fragments I had to exist in as a young woman, a black woman and the entertainer I became. Each character a tool to dismantle perceptions around identity, and even still each box encrypting a new set of rules and limitations. This is the reframe of all reframes, not over the perceptions others have had of me, but the ones I had for my self.. for survival.”

Earlier this year, Palmer appeared in One of Them Days, a buddy comedy co-starring SZA and co-produced by Issa Rae, about two best friends desperate to make their rent money in 12 hours. She told Rolling Stone that keeping busy with her career is what fuels her.
“That’s the source of my purpose: to create,” she said. “I’m working at something that I love. Doesn’t mean it’s not hard. Doesn’t mean I’m not wore out at times. But I like to be put to work. For me, that’s my joy. Now, where that comes from, we could dive into all day. But all I know is it makes me happy, so I keep doing it.”
