The iconic punk group are currently out on the road in Europe, with Frank Carter serving as their frontman. They’ll return to the UK for an appearance at Download Festival 2025 this Saturday (June 14), ahead of further shows in Glasgow and Margate.

Primal Scream embarked on a European tour last week as well, in support of their latest album ‘Come Ahead’.

Before both treks kicked off, Scream bassist Simone Marie Butler posted a series of behind-the-scenes clips from rehearsals. The first video featured Bobby Gillespie and co. running through their 1994 hit single ‘Rocks’.

It saw Pistols drummer Paul Cook playing along with a pair of maracas, as bassist Glen Matlock kept the rhythm with a tambourine. Steve Jones, meanwhile, played guitar on the song.

The second piece of footage contains an instrumental jam between the two bands on the same song – this time from a different angle. It shows Gillespie handing Jones a guitar, ahead of the frontman taking to the mic.

In slide three, Gillespie replaces Carter as the Sex Pistols frontman while Cook, Matlock and Jones play their respective instruments.

Captioning the post, Butler wrote: “Had to share this one… When the @sexpistols gate crash ur rehearsal cos they’re in the room next door.”

She continued: “The door pushed open during ‘Rocks’ and in they danced X Bobby returned the favour by goin round and singing with them of course.” Check out the videos above.

Many fans expressed their excitement in the comments section. “New supergroup. How much fun was that,” said one follower. Another wrote: “How did the world survive such a clash of fucking cool people?” A third added: “Love this. Some talent in that room!”. Someone else joked: “Never Mind The Bollocks, Here’s The Sex Scream.”

Sex Pistols and Frank Carter are set to embark on a North American tour later this year, following the UK dates. Find any remaining tickets here (North America) and here (UK).

In other news, John Lydon has once again hit out at Sex Pistols, telling current frontman Carter: “You’re not Johnny Rotten, I am. Right? Stop it.”
