Gloria Estefan’s ‘Raíces’ Debuts in Tropical Albums Chart Top 10

Gloria Estefan celebrates her sixth consecutive and total top 10 on Billboard’s Top Tropical Albums chart, as Raíces, her 16th studio album, debuts at No. 9 on the June 14-dated list.

Raíces launches with 1,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States in the tracking week ending June 5, according to Luminate. Traditional album sales account for the bulk of the sum. Plus, the LP generated 280,000 official on-demand streams.

Estefan enters an exclusive group of women who have scored six top 10s or more since Top Tropical Albums began in 1985. Olga Tañón helms the category with 18 top 10s, followed by Celia Cruz (15), India (12) and Gisselle (nine).

Here is Estefan’s collection of top 10s on the chart:

Peak Position, Title, Peak Date
No. 1, Mi Tierra, July 17, 1993 (94 weeks at No. 1 – the most for an album by a woman artist in the chart’s history)
No. 1, Abriendo Puertas, Oct. 14, 1995 (52 weeks)
No. 1, Alma Caribeña — Caribbean Soul, June 10, 2000 (seven weeks)
No. 1, 90 Millas, Oct. 6, 2007 (seven weeks)
No. 8, Brazil305, Aug. 29, 2020
No. 9, Raíces, June 14, 2025

Raíces was released May 28 on Crescent Moon/Sony Music Latin. The 13-track set, which comprises 11 songs in Spanish and two in English, was previewed by two of its cuts: the title track, which achieved a simultaneous No. 1 triple across the Latin Airplay, Tropical Airplay and Latin Pop Airplay charts in May, and “La Vecina (No Se Na’),” which jumps from No. 25 to No. 18 on the current Tropical Airplay tally.

All charts (dated June 14, 2025) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow, June 10. For all chart news, you can follow @billboard and @billboardcharts on both X, formerly known as Twitter, and Instagram.
