Little Mix’s Jesy Nelson gives birth to “healthy and fighting strong” twin daughters

Former Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson has given birth to “healthy and fighting strong” twin daughters.

The 33-year-old confirmed the news with an Instagram post on Sunday (May 18), saying the girls – who are named Ocean Jade and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster – were born prematurely at 31 weeks on Thursday.

Nelson said she and her partner, the London-based rapper Zion Foster, were “so blessed” by the girls’ arrival, posting photos of them both holding their new daughters.

“So… Our beautiful baby girls decided to come at 31weeks plus 5 days,” she wrote. “It all happened so quickly, but we are so blessed that they are here with us, healthy and fighting strong! We’ve never felt more in love. Everybody meet Ocean Jade Nelson-Foster and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster.”

The successful birth comes after Nelson revealed in March that she was undergoing an emergency procedure to prevent complications related to twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS).

The rare condition affects some unborn twins and is caused by abnormal blood vessels connecting the twins to their placenta, leading one twin to receiving a greater blood volume than the other.

Speaking ahead of the procedure, Nelson had said she was “hoping and praying for the best”, describing the experience as “obviously just really scary, because there’s so many things that can happen”.

A later post confirmed that the operation had been a success, which she said was “absolutely incredible”. She said she felt “so, so lucky to have the most amazing doctors”.

Foster ran the London Marathon last month in aid of the Twins Trust helpline, raising over £5,000. Nelson encouraged fans to donate, saying that “anything you can give” would help support families in similar situations.

She had announced her pregnancy on social media back in January, telling her followers that she was “eating for 3 now”.

Nelson departed Little Mix in 2020 after reasoning that being in the girl group had taken a “toll” on her mental health. She released her first solo single, ‘Boyz’, featuring Nicki Minaj, in 2021, followed by ‘Bad Thing’ in 2023.
