Kesha Is Horny and ‘Boy Crazy’ on Hyperpop Single

The new track precedes her upcoming summer album, Period

With Kesha, it’s fair to say that love is (still) her drug. On Friday, the pop star released her single “Boy Crazy,” on which she sings from the perspective of a horny and wild-hearted femme fatale.

The song opens with Kesha’s voice filtered through an almost robotic effect, before she shifts into her signature sweet vocals layered over a hyperpop beat for the rest of the track. “I’ve been a good girl/Now I’m a connoisseur/Many men are on the menu,” she sings on the new single. “Eat ’em up like amuse-bouche/Boys better beware/I’m on a man tear.” The silly, explicit lyrics on the high-energy party anthem see Kesha be unapologetically sexy and committed to finding a man because “boys are my cocaine.”

“I’m obsessive/I’m fixating/I want all the boys lately,” she sings on the catchy chorus. “Fly me out and entertain me/Oh, oh I’m boy crazy.”

The single artwork follows the theme of the track, which sees Kesha being choked by the hand of a man who holds a cigarette to her mouth, while another arm holds up a silver telephone to her ear. She shared the single with fans on Vault.fm ahead of its wide release. “Be safe and GO CRAZY,” she teased on her Instagram.

The new music follows Kesha’s country-tinged, T-Pain collaboration “Yippe-Ki-Yay,” which dropped at the end of March. (She also joined him for a performance of the track at Stagecoach.) The singer kicked off the Period album era with “Joyride” last summer, followed by November’s “Delusional.” The singer is set to go on her upcoming headlining arena Tits Out Tour in celebration of the upcoming LP.

Period, stylized as the punctuation mark (.), will be released on July 4 via Kesha Records, the independent label she launched in 2024 with Warner Music Group’s independent distribution arm ADA Worldwide. She plans to announce an extensive tour supporting the album soon.
