Mumford & Sons will hit the rails again for the first time in over a decade, announcing the return of their Railroad Revival Tour.
The summer 2025 run will pick up where the 2011 tour left off, at New Orleans’ Woldenberg Park on Aug. 3. After that, Mumford & Sons will travel up the East Coast, playing Piedmont Fairgrounds in Spartanburg, South Carolina (Aug. 4); Allianz Amphitheater in Richmond, Virginia (Aug. 5); and the Champlain Valley Exposition Center in Burlington, Vermont (Aug. 7). All four outdoor venues are aptly located near a local train station.
Just like the initial Railroad Revival tour, Mumford & Sons will be joined by an array of special guests, and each show will feature unique and new performances and collaborations. The lineup currently boasts Nathaniel Ratliff, Trombone Shorty, Madison Cunningham, Lucius, Celisse, Chris Thile, Ketch Secor, and Leif Vollebekk, with more artists to be announced.
Of the decision to revive the trek, Marcus Mumford said in a statement, “We felt we had some unfinished business on the great American railroad. So, we’ve spent a lot of time cooking up this idea for another rolling festival to rip through the south and east of the U.S. … The spirit of what we do, at its core, is always about people and collaboration. So, every show will be a collaborative performance from a bunch of our favorite people on the planet, and every show will be different. This will, without doubt, be the coolest house band we’ll ever get to play in.”
Tickets for the 2025 Railroad Revival Tour will go on sale Friday, May 16, at 10 a.m. local time. Members of Mumford & Sons’ Agora fan community will have access to pre-sale tickets May 15 at 10 a.m. local time. Full info is available on the band’s website.
Mumford & Sons embarked on the original Railroad Revival Tour in 2011, with support from groups like Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes and Old Crow Medicine Show. A documentary about the trek, Big Easy Express, was directed by Emmett Malloy and earned a nomination at the 55th Grammy Awards.
Along with the Railroad Revival Tour, Mumford & Sons are also embarking on a more traditional North American tour in support of their latest album, Rushmere. That run kicks off June 5 in Bend, Oregon, with dates scheduled through Oct. 26 in Omaha, Nebraska.
