Caroline Polachek has written a new song for ‘Death Stranding 2: On The Beach’

Hideo Kojima has confirmed that Caroline Polachek has written the title track for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach.

The original Death Stranding was released in 2019 and came with an impressive soundtrack of music from Low Roar, while CHVRCHES were behind the title track. A companion album featuring songs from Bring Me The Horizon, The Neighbourhood and Khalid was also released.

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is due for release June 26, 2025. Earlier this year, Woodkid released ‘To The Wilder’, his soaring contribution to the sequel’s soundtrack after it was used in an epic, ten-minute trailer for the game.

Creator Hideo Kojima has now revealed that Caroline Polachek has written Death Stranding 2’s title track ‘On The Beach’.

Speaking to VG247, Kojima said: “For the soundtrack, we worked with Ludvig Forssell, and I’ve also put Woodkid’s songs into the game. All the other musicians are those that I listen to on a daily basis and whom I like. Same as with actor casting, I contact them directly, and I ask them if we can use their songs, or sometimes they tell me they want to write a new song for the game, and we go back and forth.”

“I was listening to Caroline Polachek last year and became a big fan of hers. After I put that on my Instagram, she contacted me, and then we DM’d. We kept in touch and eventually met up in Paris, and that’s when she told me she wanted to write a new song for Death Stranding 2. She works very fast. You heard her song when you saw the Plate Gate – it’s called ‘On the Beach’.“

Following the news, one fan dug out a comment from last year that saw Polachek say it would be a “dream” to score a Hideo Kojima game.

Last year, Kojima shared a photo of him listening to Polachek’s ‘Sunset’ from her 2023 album ‘Desire, I Want To Turn Into You’.

During the development of Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, Kojima has also shared photos with Bring Me The Horizon, Nine Inch Nails and CHVRCHES, leading to rumours all three artists will be involved in the new game or the big screen adaptation that’s currently in the works.

Last week, Kojima confirmed he already had an idea for Death Stranding 3 but doesn’t want to be the one to actually make the game. “I already have a concept for another sequel,” he explained. “I am not going to make it myself, but if I passed it on to someone else, they could probably make it.”

In other news, Amazon’s Fallout adaptation could run until season six, says one of the stars of the show.
