Ayra Starr, Wizkid Make it Hot in ‘Gimme Dat’ Video

Ayra Starr and Wizkid have shared a new video for their sensual single “Gimme Dat” from April. In the dream-sequence short, Starr tantalizes a music lover while wearing a red dress that gives that emoji and rolls around on a life-sized vinyl. “Diallo, Diallo/If I give you my love, oh/Make you no disappoint, oh/Me I get you for mind, oh,” she sings. Meanwhile, while in a chic room of women, Wizkid promises that he’s turning towards monogamy. “Loving you dey put me in a different mindset/Girl, na only you go make me stick to one girl,” he croons. The pair don’t meet until the video’s end, after setting an expensive-looking car ablaze.

Produced by VybeO and Mikabeatz, “Gimme Dat” opens with guitar reminiscent of Mary J. Blige and Wyclef Jean’s 2000 song “911” that pops up throughout. The song marks Starr and Wizkid’s second collaboration, following the hit “2 Sugar” from Wizkid’s 2022 album, More Love, Less Ego. “Gimme Dat” is Starr’s second single of the year after February’s (fitting) “All The Love.” So far in 2025, Wizkid has also dropped “Kai!” with Olamide. Last year, he released his sixth studio album, Morayo and Starr dropped her second, The Year I Turned 21.

On June 20, she’ll headline Summer Jam at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, alongside A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, Gunna, GloRilla, Muni Long, Asake, and more. In 2027, she’ll star in the film adaptation of the novel Children of Blood and Bone, by Tomi Adeyemi, marking her acting debut. The movie is slated for release on Jan. 15 of that year in Imax.
