By now you’ve surely heard that Rihanna debuted her baby bump at Monday night’s 2025 Met Gala. The singer and partner A$AP Rocky are expecting their third child together and while the most burning question on the Navy’s mind is whether No. 3 will further delay RihRih’s endlessly anticipated ninth album, Ciara said when she and husband Russell Wilson ran into the couple the “straight mommy talk” was about a very different subject.
Appearing on Tuesday’s (May 6) episode of Sherri, Ciara said it was “so sweet running into her [Rihanna]. I just have to shout her out because I’m so proud of her. This is her third baby she’s having now.” Ciara said she was cracking up when the two couples took a picture together because NFL quarterback Wilson “started talking about cinco… because you know I have four [kids].”
The “1, 2 Step” singer said that as they were discussing a possible fifth child for her and Wilson — she also shares a son with her ex, rapper Future — “we started talking about quatro [four] for her [Rihanna]. Well, she’s got to get through tres [three] first. It was straight mommy talk, sweet love. A special moment for her.” Ciara also noted that Rihanna sent her a sweet note several months ago saying “she’s so proud of me” following the December 2023 birth of her third child with Wilson, daughter Amora Princess Wilson.
Rihanna and Rocky have two songs, RZA, 2 and Riot, 21 months and when RihRih was asked on the blue carpet if her third might further delay R9, she said, “Noooooo!,” though she added that it might push things a bit. “Maybe a couple videos! I can still sing!” Rihanna said. It’s been nearly a decade since Rihanna issued her most recent album, 2016’s Anti.
