Alison Goldfrapp announces new solo album ‘Flux’ with euphoric single ‘Find Xanadu’

Alison Goldfrapp has announced her second solo album, ‘Flux’ – listen to new single ‘Find Xanadu’ below.

The Goldfrapp frontwoman is due to release the follow-up to 2023’s ‘The Love Invention’ on August 15 via her own recently-launched indie label, A.G. Records. Pre-order/pre-save here.

She has previewed the forthcoming record with a shimmering electro-pop anthem. The euphoric track was co-produced by Alison alongside Swedish songwriter Stefan Storm (Sound Of Arrows) and Richard X.

‘Find Xanadu’ “invites the listener to join Alison on a cosmic odyssey to a sci-fi utopia”, per a press release. “Fizzing with energy and innovation, the song captures the magic of escapism and the allure of the unknown,” it adds.

Writing about the single on social media, Alison said: “It’s the first glimpse of what’s to come and your invitation to escape and dream with me – can’t wait for you to hear.”

We’ll sing with a lilac moon/ And conjure a spell We’ll find our groove/ And move inside the parallels of love,” Alison sings, before adding: “Fill me with stars Take me up high Make them go deep enough/ So we can fly.”

‘Flux’ promises to boast some Alison’s “most undeniable pop hooks since Goldfrapp’s iconic album ‘Supernature’ [2005] as well as her most poignantly vulnerable songwriting to date”.

Speaking about going independent in this new era, the singer explained: “If you’re lucky enough to have the option, owning your own masters feels like a no-brainer these days.

“While being a solo independent artist comes with its own set of challenges, it truly suits me and has given myself and the people I work with a sense of empowerment and invigoration for this album.”

Fans have been told to “stay tuned” for further news and music in the coming months.

The tracklist for Alison Goldfrapp’s ‘Flux’ is:

  1. ‘Hey Hi Hello’
  2. ‘Sound & Light’
  3. ‘Reverberotic’
  4. ‘Strange Things Happen’
  5. ‘UltraSky’
  6. ‘Play It (Shine Like A Nova Star)’
  7. ‘Find Xanadu’
